Introduction

When you configure text according to an audience, the audience segment to which a viewer belongs dictates the message that is displayed to the viewer. Audiences can be segmented by many attributes, including age, geographic location, health plan type, customer loyalty program, and many more.

In the example below, different messages are displayed to viewers based on the customer loyalty program to which they belong. Note that all other components of the scene are identical.

Audience messaging is implemented using data that is passed to SundaySky for each viewer. In order to put this method into action, you'll need to create the relevant data field together with the values that the data field can have.
See Creating a New Data Library for instructions on how to create data fields and values.

For example:
If you want to display different messages based on credit card type,
you need to create a data field called card type together with the possible values that this data field can have (gold, silver, platinum).

(Optional) Add more variations, as required.

11.

12.

Enter the text (referred to as default text) that you want to display when the following occur:
● A viewer does not belong to any of the audiences that you have defined.
● Data is not available for the personalization token in a variation. Note that when a personalization token is included, the viewer must belong to the specified audience and have data for the required token in order to see the defined message.

In the example below: Rewards for everyday purchases will be displayed in the scene when:
● The viewer does not belong to any audience, neither Family nor Individual.
● The viewer's first name is not included in the record of a person belonging to the Individual audience.

Notes

1.

You can create a variation using more than one audience. In such a case, the message you enter will display if the viewer belongs to any of the audiences that have been selected. In the example below, Get 20 rewards points! will display if the viewer belongs to the Family audience or to the Individual audience.

2.

You can define an audience to not see any message at all. To do this, select the relevant value and then leave the message field empty.

3.

To delete a variation, click the X in the relevant variation pane.

4.

The font size used for the text in the placeholder depends on the length of the text. The longer the text, the smaller the font size will be, to enable all the text to display in the placeholder.
