The cropping tool is used to focus on parts of an image by positioning and sizing what is shown in the image placeholder.
You can crop images that are used for the logo as well as images uploaded to media placeholders.
Cropping an Image in a Media Placeholder
1. |
From the scene line-up, select the scene with the image that you want to crop. |
2. |
Hover over the image to see the blue placeholder and then click inside the placeholder. |
Note:
If you haven't uploaded the image yet, select Upload in the right panel and then click the checkered thumbnail to upload the image.
3. Click the Edit media icon in the right pane.
The image is opened in the Media Editor, ready for cropping.
4. |
Drag the cropping window to select the part of the image that you want to keep. |
Notes:
a. |
The aspect ratio (ratio of width to height) of the cropping window is based on the aspect ratio of the media placeholder that you are configuring. In the example above, both the image and the cropping window are rectangular. This is what ensures that the image is displayed correctly in the scene. |
b. |
As you move the cropping window to select an area of the image, you can see a preview on the right side of the page. |
c. |
You can always click the Reset button below the cropping area to discard the changes and start again. |
5. |
After you finish cropping and are happy with the result, click Apply at the bottom of the page. |
The image is updated in the media placeholder.
Note:
If you access the image from the placeholder, you will see the section you cropped within the original image. This will enable you to crop a different section whenever you need to.
