Introduction

The media in your video can be customized for your viewers according to the audience that they belong to. Using this method, you can display different media assets (images or video footage) to different audiences.

The following are use case examples for this type of personalization:
In a video promoting health plans, the image that is displayed in the opening scene is based on the plan that the viewer holds. In this example, audiences are segmented according to plan name.
In an onboarding video for new employees, the video footage in one of the scenes is based on the department to which the employee belongs. In this example, audiences are segmented according to department.

This type of personalization is implemented using data that is passed to SundaySky for each viewer. To use this method, you'll need to first set up your data library where you will create the data field that you will use to define the audience. Together with the data field, you'll also need to define the values that this data field can have.
See Managing the SundaySky Data Library to learn how to create data fields and values.

For example:
If you want to display different images based on the viewer's age,
you would create a data field called age group together with the possible values that this data field can have (Gen X, Gen Y, Gen Z, Boomer).

Notes

1.

You can create a variation using more than one audience. In such a case, the selected media asset will be displayed if the viewer belongs to any of the audiences included in the variation. In the example below, the same media asset will be displayed for either Select Care or Essentials planholders.
