Overview

The SundaySky Recorder enables you to quickly and easily record your screen or camera. After recording, you can edit and enhance the footage using all the features available in the Studio, including text and media overlays. A recording functions like any other video footage and can be added to any media placeholder in a scene.

The Recorder is accessed from the Media Library, and recordings created in your account are saved in an automatically-generated folder named Recordings.

Here are some popular use cases for which the Recorder can be used:

  • Product explainer
  • Recorded presentation
  • Meeting summary
  • Announcement
  • Company update
  • Walkthrough
  • Training video

Note:
Currently, you can record either your screen or your camera. In the near future, you'll be able to record both your camera and screen simultaneously, as well as your microphone and screen together. See the SundaySky Product Roadmap for more information.

Prerequisites

The minimum required Chrome version for using the SundaySky Recorder is 116, released August 15, 2023.

Inside the Placeholder

After placing the recording in a media placeholder, there are two related settings you can configure if you want the recording to behave in a certain way.

1. If you want the recording sound to play in the scene, the video sound needs to be set to Play video sound. See Turning the Video Asset Sound On or Off to learn about this setting.
2. If you want the recording to play in its entirety, the video duration needs to be set to Play full duration. See Setting the Duration of a Video Asset Inside a Scene to learn about this setting.
