Overview
SundaySky lets you generate a video draft directly from an existing PowerPoint presentation using AI. By uploading a PPTX file, you can quickly transform your slides into a video structure that includes scenes, media assets, narration, and text — all based on the content in your deck.
Because presentations and videos are fundamentally different formats, some adjustments are expected. After the draft is created, you can review and edit it in the Studio to ensure it aligns with your messaging and visual goals.
This approach is designed to accelerate the early stages of video creation. Instead of starting from a blank canvas, you begin with a meaningful first draft generated from your slides, allowing you to focus on refining the video and shaping a polished final result.
AI Usage Credits for Video Drafting
Because this feature is currently in beta, generating a video from slides does not consume AI usage credits. After full release, use of this feature will consume credits at the same rate as other AI video drafting features, and the credit cost will be displayed during the drafting process.
How Slide Content is Handled
Slides to Video creates a custom scene for each PowerPoint slide, with placeholders that reflect the content on that slide. The table below provides a detailed look at how this works. All content remains fully editable in SundaySky.
| PowerPoint element | How it's handled in SundaySky |
| Slide | Created as a custom scene in the video draft. |
| Text box | Added as a text placeholder. In most cases, the heading style is applied to the largest text on the PowerPoint slide, and the sub-heading style is applied to smaller text. |
| Picture | Added as a media asset. If the picture was edited in PowerPoint, the original image is used in SundaySky rather than the edited version. |
| Video | Added as a video asset. |
| Speaker notes | Used as suggested narration for the scene. |
| Bullet points | Added as regular text. Bullet formatting is not preserved. |
| Hidden slide | Created as a custom scene that is skipped for everyone. |
In addition to how individual elements are handled, keep the following in mind when generating a video from slides:
- By default, the Minimal theme is applied to the video draft. You can switch to any theme that supports custom scenes.
- When generating the video draft, AI attempts to match the PowerPoint deck to an existing brand. If a suitable match is found, that brand is applied to the video; otherwise, a new brand is created and applied.
By default, a newly created brand is named after the video, followed by the date and time of creation. For example: Industry Profile 02/10/2026 08:01:39
-
Some graphic elements used in PowerPoint are not carried over into the video draft. As a result, certain visual details may be omitted. In the example below, the turquoise bar in PowerPoint is a decorative graphic element. This element does not appear in the generated video draft.

Creating a Video Draft from a PowerPoint File
Before you begin, make sure your PowerPoint file is in .pptx format and does not exceed 50 MB. When processing finishes, the video draft opens in the Studio, where you can begin editing.
| 1. | Log in to SundaySky Create. |
| 2. | In the Video Library, click Create in the left sidebar. |
| 3. | Click Upload a document. |
| 4. | In your directory, select the file you want to use, and then click Open. |
| 5. | Click Create video and edit in Studio. |
| After processing, the video draft opens in the Studio, ready for you to work on. Note the following details: a. All scenes are custom scenes, as indicated by the icons on the scene thumbnails. b. In the example below, a new brand was created for the video because no existing brand matched the design of the uploaded file. c. By default, the video draft is saved to the root folder of the Video Library. You can move it to any folder as needed. |
