Overview

The Media Library in SundaySky Create is your central hub for managing all your images and video assets. From one location, you can upload, organize, review, and manage the media assets you use in your videos.

In the Media Library, you can:

  • Upload media assets from your computer
  • Add stock media assets to your collection
  • Create folders to organize your assets
  • Manage assets, including moving and deleting
  • View details for a specific asset (description, size, resolution)
  • Access your connected digital asset management (DAM) system, if your organization has integrated one

If you're looking for instructions on adding a media asset to a video, see Adding a Media Asset to a Scene.

Accessing the Media Library

You can access the Media Library from two places: the sidebar in Create or from within the Studio.

From the Create sidebar — Best when you want to browse, organize, or curate assets for future use without working on a specific video.

From within the Studio — Ideal when you're actively editing a video and want to add or manage assets as part of your workflow.

After opening the Media Library in the Studio, you can adjust the layout and control how many columns are displayed by dragging the handle on the side of the library.

All Media Library content is managed at the account level. This means that all users in the same account share a single media library for the videos they create. For example:

  • Images uploaded by one user are visible and accessible to all users in the account.
  • Folders created by one user are visible and accessible to all users in the account.

Sections in the Media Library

The Media Library is divided into sections that help you browse, organize, and work with your media assets efficiently.

  • Your Media — Contains all media assets available to your account, including:
    • Assets uploaded by users
    • Stock assets used in videos
    • Stock assets saved for future use
  • Stock — A built-in collection of high-quality images and video footage that you can search and browse.

  • DAM (if enabled) — If your organization has integrated a digital asset management (DAM) system, it appears as an additional section in the Media Library.

Viewing and Organizing Assets in Your Media

In Your Media, you can switch between two view modes:

  • Grid view — Shows larger thumbnails. Hovering over the thumbnail reveals the asset name.
  • List view — Displays smaller thumbnails but always shows the asset name.

Folders always appear first, followed by individual media assets.

Filtering and Searching

Each section in the Media Library offers filters tailored to its content.

  • In Your Media, filter by Type, Source, or Duration to focus on the assets in your account, and use the search bar to find specific folders or media assets:
    • Type image or video
    • Source — where the asset came from, such as Uploaded, Getty, or AI Generated
    • Duration — the length of a video in seconds
  • In Stock, filter by Type, Orientation, or Duration, and use the search bar to search within the Getty collection:
    • Type — the kind of stock media, such as video or image
    • Orientation — whether the asset is horizontal (landscape) or vertical (portrait)
    • Duration — the length of stock video footage, in seconds

In Your Media, you can sort results alphabetically or by Newest or Oldest.
In Stock, you can sort results by Best match, Newest, Oldest, or Most popular.

Organizing your media assets in folders works just like organizing any other files. Use folders to group your assets, making it easy to find what you need quickly.

You can save media assets in folders, subfolders, or the root directory, and there's no limit to the number of folders or subfolders you can create.

Folder and media asset names must be unique within the same parent. This means you cannot have more than one folder or media asset with the same name in a single folder or subfolder.

Creating a Folder
1. In the Media Library, select the Your Media tab.
2. Click the New folder icon at the top of the page.
▶ To add a subfolder, first open the parent folder, then click the New folder icon within that folder.
