The stock library in the SundaySky platform has been updated with new media assets. Together with the addition of new assets, a selection of assets that were in the stock library have expired. In the platform, a media asset that is no longer included in the stock library is referred to as an expired asset.
In this article, you will find answers to the most frequently asked questions regarding this update. If you have a question that is not covered below or for any assistance in using media assets, reach out to SundaySky Support.
What exactly is changing in the stock library?
Recently, new media assets—images and video footage—have been added to the stock library. Additionally, some media assets that existed in the stock library have expired.
What does this mean for me?
As the updated stock library provides unlimited access to thousands of high-quality media assets, we are confident that you will continue to find the perfect asset for every scene.
The only change that you will experience will be when duplicating a scene or video that includes an expired media asset (see related questions below).
How can I know if I have expired assets in my account?
Inside the Studio, after accessing the Media Library, the following notification is displayed:
After clicking View expired media at the bottom of the notification, the list of expired assets is displayed along with the name of the folder in which each was saved. Note that these are assets that you curated and saved in the past in Your Media. Some of these assets may have been used in videos and some may not have.
This notification is displayed to each user in your account. Once it is dismissed by clicking the X, the message is no longer available.
What happens to the expired assets in my account after this update?
After this update, an expired asset will no longer be available in Your Media.
How can I find an image similar to an expired asset?
We recommend using SundaySky's AI Image Generator to create a similar image. To get started, use the description of the expired asset as your prompt. Using the example below, you could begin by entering the following description in the prompt box: Wooden kitchen utensils in a white ceramic cup on the kitchen counter with a gray background
A video I created includes an expired asset. What do I need to do?
Not a thing! An expired asset used in a video will continue to be part of the video. This applies to an asset used in a scene, as a custom background, or as a poster image in a SundaySky landing page.
Note also that the video status does not affect expired assets in a video. A video in Draft status can be approved and a video in Approved to share status can be shared.
In summary, there is no action that you need to take in regard to expired media assets in an existing video.
What happens if I duplicate a scene that has an expired asset?
When you duplicate a scene with an expired asset, all the content included in the scene is duplicated except for the expired asset.
Clicking View expired media in the confirmation message displays the assets that will not be included:
In the duplicated scene, the media placeholder that held the expired asset will be empty and have a checkered background. You will need to select a new media asset for the scene.
