Introduction
The media library inside the SundaySky Studio is where you manage images and video footage all in one place. In this single location, you can upload, manage, delete, and select media assets for the scenes in your videos.
Here are the main actions that you can perform in the media library:
- Upload a media asset from your computer
- Add a stock media asset to your media collection
- Create folders for organizing your media assets
- Manage media assets, including moving and deleting assets
- Get information regarding a specific media asset (description, size, resolution)
- Add a media asset to a media placeholder. See Adding or Replacing a Media Asset to learn how.
Managing the media library is independent of adding media assets to a video. This means that you can curate media assets at your convenience so that they are ready to use when you create your video.
The media library can be accessed after opening a video in the Studio. All the media library content is on the account level. Account-level access means that all users belonging to the same account will use the same media library for the videos they create. For example:
- Images uploaded by one user in the account will be visible and accessible to all the other users in the account.
- A folder created by one user in the account will be visible and accessible to all the other users in the account.
Media Library Basics
1. |
After opening a video in the Studio, the media library is accessed by clicking Media in the sidebar. |
2. |
The media library includes the following two sections: |
Your Media: this section includes media assets that have been uploaded, stock media assets that were used in videos, and stock media assets saved for future use. Stock: this is a collection of high-quality images and video footage in which you can search for the desired media asset. |
|
3. |
The contents of Your Media can be displayed in grid or list view. To switch between the views, click the view selector at the top of the media library. The major difference between the views is that in list view, the name of the media asset is displayed. In grid view, you need to hover over the media asset in order to see the name of the media asset. |
|
|
4. | In Your Media, folders are displayed first, followed by the individual media assets. |
5. | The names of folders and media assets must be unique. This means that under the same parent (folder or subfolder), you cannot have more than one folder or media asset with the same name. |

Folder Details
Organizing Your Media assets in folders is just like organizing anything else. You use folders to group your media assets so that you can find what you are looking for quickly and easily.
Media assets can be saved in folders and subfolders as well as in the root directory. There is no limit to the number of folders and subfolders that you can create.
Note:
With the release of the media library (November 2023), folders will be automatically created for the favorites that were saved in users' individual accounts. A separate folder will be created for each user that saved favorites.
In the example below, Jeff and Sue saved favorites in their individual accounts. A folder has been created for each of them, with their respective email addresses, and now these folders can be accessed by all users of the account. These default folder names can be renamed.
1. |
Access the media library. |
2. |
Select the Your Media tab. |
3. |
Click the New folder icon. |
4. |
Enter a name for the new folder. |
5. |
Click Create Folder. |
The folder is added to the account. |

On the relevant folder thumbnail, click the three-dot menu. |
|
|
2. |

3. |

Warning:
When you delete a folder, you are also deleting everything that is inside it. This includes all subfolders and media assets. As this action is not reversible, we recommend proceeding with caution.

(Optional) Double-click the relevant folder to review its content. |
2. |
On the folder thumbnail, click the three-dot menu. |
|
|
3. | Click Delete. |
|
|
4. | If you are sure that you want to delete this folder, type DELETE in upper case letters. |
|
|
5. | Click Delete Folder. |
The folder is deleted. |
To view information about the contents of a specific folder, click the three-dot menu on the folder thumbnail and then click Details. In the example below, the Travel folder contains 1 image, 1 video, and 1 subfolder.
