Overview
After adding narration to a scene, you can preview it using the AI voice or avatar that you selected.
The guidelines in this article apply to previewing narration while working on a scene. If you want to preview narration while watching the full video, see Previewing a Video.
How Narration Duration May Change After Previewing
After you add narration to a scene and before previewing, the platform provides an estimated duration based on the character count and the narration speed. The estimated time is marked with a tilde (~) symbol, as in the example below:
This is only an estimate as the actual narration duration may change based on the selected narrator's speaking pace, pronunciation, and style.
When you preview the scene, the platform generates the narration, and you'll see its actual duration. If the narration is personalized, an exact duration cannot be provided as it will vary based on the narration text for each viewer.
Previewing a Narration
1. | Open the relevant video in the Studio. |
2. | Make sure to select the AI voice that you want to use for the video. ▶ If you're also using avatars for any scenes, ensure that they are added as well. |
3. | Select the scene whose narration you'd like to preview. ▶ If you have not yet previewed the narration, you'll see an estimated duration displayed. |
4. | Select the narration placeholder and then click the play button. |
5. | As you listen to the narration, take note of the following: ▶ If the narration includes a personalization token, the name of the personalization token (for example, first name) is narrated and not the actual value. ▶ If the narration includes audience messaging, the fallback narration is used. |
6. | (Optional) If the narration is personalized with audience messaging, double-click the placeholder to preview all the variations. |
Note that after previewing, the narration duration is now final and it appears in the placeholder without a tilde (~) symbol. | |
