Overview

An AI (text-to-speech) voice enables you to easily create a voice-over directly from your script. Using an AI voice has many benefits, among them:

  • The voice-over creation process is immediate.
  • You are not dependent on any external resources. There is no need to find a suitable voice talent, coordinate recording sessions, review the recording, or have multiple iterations.
  • Using an AI voice is completely free of charge.
  • Voice-over edits can be made easily and quickly.

The SundaySky platform includes a rich library of natural-sounding voices from which you can choose the one that best matches your content's tone and style.

Note:
On January 15, 2025, several AI voices that can currently be selected will expire and be no longer available in SundaySky. You can identify these voices by the Expiring soon label displayed next to the voice name.

See the Expiring Voices section in this article for guidelines on how to handle a video that is currently using one of these AI voices.

Adding an AI Voice

1. Open the relevant video in the Studio.
2. Select Voice in the sidebar.

The Voice Library is displayed.
▶ The name of each voice is followed by a number of tags that describe its characteristics. See Voice Characteristics for more information.
▶ The default voice for a new video is Jessica, one of the enhanced voices.

Voice Characteristics

Each voice in the Voice Library is cataloged with tags that describe its characteristics and classification. These tags include language and dialect, gender, age, and tone.

In the example below, the voice named George is cataloged with the following characteristics:

  • Language: English (with a British dialect)
  • Gender: Male
  • Age Group: Adult
  • Tone: Mature, Engaging, Dramatic

The addition of the Enhanced tag indicates that the voice is very natural-sounding, has excellent pronunciation and enunciation, and can handle common acronyms better than other voices.

Note that voices expiring soon are tagged with language and gender only.

Searching for a Voice

1. You can search all characteristics by typing text in the search bar.
For example: typing young retrieves all the voices tagged as young, regardless of the other attributes.

2. Use the filters to display only the voices that you want to see or to refine the results after performing a search.

3. If a language has multiple dialects, selecting the main language retrieves voices in all the dialects.

Expiring Voices

Voices tagged with Expiring soon will be removed from the Voice Library on January 15, 2025. Here's what you need to know if a video in your account is using one of them.

1.

If a video has been approved or shared, the video will continue to use the voice even after January 15th. We, however, recommend that you change the voice to a new one for the following reasons:

  • The new voices are more natural-sounding and can lead to higher viewer engagement with your video.
  • If you edit the voice-over script after January 15th, you will need to change the voice before you can re-approve the video.

To assist you in locating a similar voice to what you are currently using, see our Recommendations for Switching a Voice.

2. If a video using an expiring voice has not yet been approved by January 15th, you will need to switch to an available voice before you can approve your video.
3. Any change made to the video after January 15th not related to the voice-over script (e.g. new media asset, new music track) does not require changing the voice in the video.
4. If you duplicate a video with a voice that is expiring soon after January 15th, you'll need to select a new voice in the duplicated video.
