3. I have a video that is using an expired voice. What do I need to do?
It depends on the status of the video.
If the video has been approved or shared, the video can continue using the expired voice even after January 15th.
If the video is currently a work in progress and you are still making changes to the narration, we recommend changing to a new voice. That way, you can preview and then approve the video once you have completed creating it.
4. It is after January 15th and I need to made a change to the narration. My video is using an expired voice. Is there anything that I need to do?
Yes. You will need to select a new voice before you can edit the narration.
5. It is after January 15th and I made a change to the on-screen text. My video is using an expired voice. Is there anything that I need to do?
If you have not yet previewed the video, you will need to select a new voice before you can preview.
If the change you made is not related to the narration (e.g. media asset, music track, on-screen text) and you previewed the video before January 15th, you do not need to select a new voice.
To simplify your work and prevent potential issues in the future, we recommend selecting a new voice in any case.
6. I duplicated a video that uses an expired voice. What do I need to do in the duplicated video?
If the original video is approved and you do not change the narration in the duplicated video, there is no need to do anything. The expired voice will also be used in the duplicated video.
If you want to change the narration in the duplicated video, you'll need to select a new voice before you can edit the narration.
7. If my approved video is using an expired voice, should I switch the voice anyway?
Yes. We recommend that you change the voice to a new one as the new voices are more natural-sounding and can lead to higher viewer engagement with your video. Switching to a new voice is also recommended if you plan to change the narration in the future as a narration using an expired voice cannot be edited.
To assist you in locating a similar voice to what you are currently using, see our Recommendations for Switching a Voice in the section below.
8. Is there anything else that I need to do after switching to a new voice?
We recommend that you watch the video after changing the voice to make sure that the pace of each scene and the entire video duration have not been impacted by the change. In most videos, the change will be seamless and you will not need to perform any additional action.
In some videos, you may need to optimize the narration in certain scenes by making minor adjustments. Using the Minimum Duration feature can be very helpful in these cases, enabling you to set a fixed duration for a specific scene.
9. How often do voices expire in the SundaySky platform?
This is a very rare occurrence. The voices that expired recently were active for the past three years. We do not anticipate sunsetting additional voices in the near future.
