Introduction

If you have selected Salesforce as your data connector, the personalization of your video is based on data you hold in your Salesforce account. In this case, Salesforce acts as your data source.

In this article, you will find guidelines for sharing a Salesforce-based personalized video, whether you are using the SundaySky landing page or a page of your own. These guidelines provide instructions for creating an individual URL for one viewer. For bulk URL creation, we recommend that you contact your Salesforce administrator.

Before starting the sharing process, we recommend that you review the mapping of the data fields in the data library. This is to ensure that all the data fields used in your video are mapped correctly to the objects in your Salesforce account.

In the example below:

  • The Salesforce First Name field (in the Contact object) is mapped to the data field, First Name.
  • The Salesforce Department field (in the Contact object) is mapped to the data field, Department.

In the landing page URL, replace <** **> according to the unique identifier from your Salesforce account. The unique identifier is extracted from the URL that is accessed in Salesforce.
In the example below, Cathy Johnson's contact record has been accessed. This is in order to use her first name and department for personalization. In the Salesforce URL that appears below, the highlighted segment represents the identifier. This string is copied and used in the landing page URL.

Following is how the URL will look after it is populated with the Salesforce identifier:

https://myvideo.sundaysky.com/?programId=6deaf387-f733-4a29-b23f-c090f2abd66f&Contact=0038d00000qypTEAAY

In this example, only one object is included in the URL. You can, of course, include more objects that are needed for personalization.
